AN EXTENSSION OF MY LIVING ROOM

At this year’s VIMA Art Fair Parallel Program, SPAZIO ALTRO presents An Extension of My Living Room, an exhibition that reimagines the gallery through the intimacy of a domestic setting. Rather than a neutral backdrop, the living room becomes an active site of encounter—where artworks, objects, and ideas slip between the functional and the poetic, dissolving boundaries between private and public, everyday and extraordinary.

The exhibition proposes a space that is less about display and more about inhabitation. Artworks are not isolated from life but embedded within it, generating a shifting habitat where conversation, reflection, and play unfold naturally. The familiar is unsettled, and the mundane is recast as speculative. Here, the living room becomes a stage for thought and experimentation, challenging us to consider how environments and objects shape our behavior as much as we shape them.

In this fluid setting, art does not remain still—it questions, performs, and transforms. Visitors are invited not to passively observe but to participate in a living dialogue, where design, behavior, and perception intertwine. The result is an exhibition that blurs the line between art and life, turning the act of viewing into an experience of inhabiting.
